Industrial Recycling of Low-Grade Coal Gangue: Zero-Waste Production of High-Spec Fired Bricks

2026-06-26
Coal gangue stockpiling has always been a major environmental problem in the coal industry, occupying land resources, inducing geological hazards and causing soil and air pollution. High-value coal gangue has been widely recycled, while massive low-grade coal gangue has long been left unused, forming a huge industrial waste backlog. The innovative firing brick-making technology realizes the full resource utilization of low-grade coal gangue, bringing dual benefits of environmental protection and economic profit for the building materials and coal industries.
Different from traditional clay and shale bricks, low-grade coal gangue fired bricks replace protected natural mineral resources with industrial solid waste. The whole production process adopts closed-loop technological control, with no tailings, waste residue or secondary solid waste discharge. All low-grade coal gangue raw materials are completely converted into finished building materials, realizing 100% waste resource utilization.
In terms of product quality, coal gangue fired bricks produced by mature optimized processes fully meet the national standards GB/T 5101 (Fired Common Bricks) and GB 13544 (Fired Porous Bricks and Blocks). The finished products feature high compressive strength, stable physical properties, low water absorption and excellent weather resistance, which can fully meet the construction needs of industrial buildings, civil residences, municipal engineering and other scenarios, with performance exceeding traditional clay bricks in many indicators.
In terms of production advantages, the internal combustion firing technology realizes self-heating firing of coal gangue raw materials. Reasonable calorific value adjustment reduces external fuel investment, saving production costs for enterprises. The smoke-heat separation one-time firing process improves production efficiency, reduces product defect rate, and realizes clean flue gas treatment, fully complying with global industrial environmental protection emission standards.
From the perspective of industrial development, low-grade coal gangue brick-making technology solves the industry pain point of difficult disposal of inferior coal gangue waste, realizes the cyclic development of "coal mining - waste recycling - building material production", and conforms to the global green building and waste recycling industrial policy. It is a key promotion project for coal industry environmental governance and building materials industry energy conservation and emission reduction, with broad market application prospects.
At present, the mature and stable low-grade coal gangue firing process can target various coal gangue raw materials with special physical, chemical and mineral components, and formulate personalized production schemes to stably output high-quality standard fired bricks. This technology provides a sustainable, low-cost and zero-pollution waste disposal solution for global coal and building material enterprises.
